Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom

A Poem by A Soapy Mess Stories

I never thought I would hit rock bottom

‘Til you’ve lived in a homeless shelter

When you think you’re above

Living in one

Then, it happens and

You’re living in one

Brings a new reality

Don’t be like me

And think ‘it can’t happen to me’

‘Cause it can!

I made it out

After a few months

And, while I’m still living

Paycheck to paycheck

So far, I’m maintaining

My new place to live

After a year of living in my own apartment

On my own

Spot on, never think it can't happen to you.
Plenty of people one wage away from being homeless.
Hope you're on the up now.
