Chapter 1

JJ came back to his and Theo’s apartment after a two-week trip to Chad, working with refugees. JJ was tired and just wanted to sleep. But Theo was running errands and saw Serita, his new girlfriend for the day, and JJ came home to a surprise visitor�"Gabi Hernandez-DiMera from Salem, where Theo had let Gabi in and allowed her to wait while he was out.

"Theo, I'm home!" JJ yelled for Theo as he set his luggage and briefcase next to the desk in his and Theo’s apartment.

"Hello, JJ!" Gabi greeted a surprised JJ.

"Um, where's Theo?"

"So, I guess I'm just chopped liver? No greeting for an ex-girlfriend?"

"Gabi, I didn't expect to see you in South Africa?"

"Well, after what’s gone down back in Salem, I thought I'd check out Johannesburg."

"What do you mean? What's been happening in Salem?"

"Oh, nothing, except hostile takeovers and demon possessions!" Gabi told him.

"Wow, sounds like I should be in Salem rather than Johannesburg?" JJ remarked.

"Nah, Johannesburg sounds a little tamer." Gabi said. "Especially what went down in your family?"

"My family? What happened with them?" JJ said, his interest piqued.

"It all started when Jack learned he had another daughter?"

"Another daughter? Dad cheated on Mom?" JJ said, his interest piqued.

As Gabi filled JJ in on the history of Gwen Rizczech and his family, Gabi wondered if she should tell him the real reason she came to Johannesburg.

Meanwhile, Ben and Ciara were the happy parents of Bo Brady Weston when Kayla gave them a clean bill of health for their son after the whole near-possession ordeal. After taking their son home, Ben and Ciara discussed leaving Salem for a while as soon as it was feasible to take Baby Bo out of the country.

"Hey, I have an idea of where to go?" Ciara said.

"What is it?" Ben asked, as was making googly eyes at Baby Bo. "I swear, Bo smiled at me?"

"Nah, its just gas! Bo's way too young to smile." Ciara said.

"Are you sure, because I swear I saw a smile?"

"Well, you could be right?" Ciara said, as Ciara looked proudly at Baby Bo.

"Anyway, what was the idea you had?" Ben asked getting back on topic before Baby Bo interrupted them.

"Why don't we go to Johannesburg?" Ciara asked.

"Why do you want to go there?" Ben questioned as he flashed to the time Ciara was there with Theo.

"Well, I really liked it there and the worst part was not being with you."

"How can that be? You had no memory of us back then?"

"That psychic connection we have, somehow it was there in the back of my mind, nudging at me." Ciara explained.

"What if...." Ben began to say but the psychic connection between them was all Ben needed as Ciara finished what he was going to say.

"Theo thinks he still has a chance with me?" Ciara replied. "Besides, something tells me Theo’s moved on."

"How do you know?"

"Theo wrote back a few weeks ago and said he was dating. I only forgot to tell you because of all the devil drama that went on recently."

"Well, that's great! I'm so happy for Theo!"
