This love.A Chapter by Stephanie JonesWhen we first walked in I noticed the white walls, plain, but could easily be changed. I saw the two brownish loveseats, and the somewhat large television. We kept moving and I saw into the first door which had a queen size bed in it, obviously the masters suite. Then we walked into the dining room and kitchen which were together. It was all so open and light it was magnificent. The countertops marble, and the dining room table was obviously carved from wood with it’s unique wolf design printed in the center. Underneath it, it said always and forever. How romantic. He grabbed my arm and led me to these three doors at the end, one was a bathroom, and one was a computer space. The third door was closed. “Go ahead, open it.” He said smiling. I opened the doors and it was unbelieve able. The room was white, but had a little wooden rocking chair with that same wolf image on the back part of the seat. It had a little crib, and a spinning thing above the head board. 5 little wolves that moved in time. “It’s so beautiful.” “I knew you’d say that.” “Fate?” “You’ve invisioned me that long.” “Longer. You were in my dreams before I knew anything.” I couldn’t help but cry. He was so passionate. I put Lexi on the ground because I was afraid I would drop her with how weak I felt. “Juliet, I love you.” That took my breath away. I slipped and he caught me in his arms just before I hit the ground. “Fast.” Very fast, I’d never seen anyone move that fast ever. “I told you, I have been waiting a very long time.” “You knew I’d do that.” Wow, I felt stupid. “It was the first thing I saw after looking at your face.” I felt everything going limb, my life was perfect. “Kellan, I-“ I wanted to ask him how he reached me so fast, but he had years of practice. Instead he stopped me midsentence and kissed me. It was so passionate I thought I was going to pass out. It was perfect, his lips moved in sync with mine without a single care. His lips were soft, shaped to fit mine, and with one hand he was holding me, the other was intertwined with mine. “Uhm...Juw-ee-et.” Lexi had to ruin the moment. I looked up just in time to see a police man standing out the window looking in on us. Trapped. Shoot, how did they keep finding us. “Lexi!” I darted towards her all the while Kellan jumped to his feet, and took my hand and led me out of the room. I bet he didn’t see that coming, none of us did. Fate had nothing to do with this man who had us trapped in the house. ------------------------------ By the time we got out of the room to look around the bend, we noticed the two men who had sealed off the back door. And the one at the front door. They had it blocked, but as if they were waiting for someone to come. Then everything came clear to me. “I can’t believe I was so stupid.” I slightly whispered so Kellan could just bearly hear. “What, what are you talking about?” “They, they found us because of Trevor.” “No Kellan, they found us because of me. I knew Trevor had nothing to do with this.” I couldn’t believe I was so dumbfounded. “What are you talking about?” I looked up to see he was very confused. “I was given a bracelet a little while back from my mother, and she always told me that whenever I wore this she’d know where I was.” I paused but I knew he was growing impatient. “My mom, had a tracker installed into the bracelet, would show people wherever I went.” “Why would your mom care where you went. I thought she hated you.” “She does, but I think she realized me running away would make me happy, and I know it sounds stupid but that’s what she hated. Me being happy.” The truth of my words stung. “So wheres the bracelet? Can’t we just tap some water on it and let it go?” “The circuitry is much too complex for some water.” And then I had a brilliant plan. “Are there any ways to get out of here besides the front and back door?” I suggested. “Uhmm, wait yes, there is, only one, it’d take us pretty far out of this place.” He stumbled, and even in the worst situations it made me laugh. “Then it’ll have to work.” My plan would work. Fate on my side or not. “Uhmm, Kellan, hold Lexi for a minute I have to go pee.” I spoke lud and clear letting every person waiting around the house to hear me. With that I handed him Lexi and stated. “While I go pee, you should put Lexi in her crib so she could sleep.” Once again clear, very clear. He smiled. “Okay Juliet, I will go put Lexi to bed now.” And with that he headed towards the door. I took my time in the bathroom, I didn’t want it to appear as though we were up to anything. But I did want to get out of here before that person did. I looked at myself in the mirror, and I looked different. I somehow lost weight, most likely through all the running, and my face changed. Not like I got uglier, but somehow prettier. Like this adventure made me different for a better life. I flushed the toilet, and put on the sink, let it run a few seconds and then shut it off. I walked out the door, and into ‘Lexi’s bedroom’. There was Kellan and Lexi waiting for me. I shut the door. “What now?” I was curious. “Take Lexi.” We both spoke in whispers. Then he opened the hatch underneath the rug. “Neat-o.” I was surprised. “I know it’s pretty spiffy right.” Spiffy? Kellan really just didn’t say spiffy. But I guess he did, and then he jumped through the hole. I’m guessing he wanted to me to follow next and I did. He caught me right before I hit the ground. “Did you see that to?” I said making fun of him politely, if that was a possiblility. “No, I just know you are clumsy.” “Clumsy?” How rude. Or cute. And then we heard the burst of the front door and about six people all talking at once. For a second I knew I wasn’t breathing, but it came back in fast rapid beats. I watched Kellan as he darted to the side of the wall, and pressed this little button, almost too small to see. “What was that?” I ran to his side. “That was the lockdown unit, for the floor panel. No one can open it unless they have a key.” “Do they have a key?” “Only one person has the key.” “Who?” I couldn’t believe I said that. “I do, jeez you’d think I’d be stupid enough to not have it.” Oops, I didn’t mean it that way, but I’d apologize later, mainly because one, we heard shouting from upstairs that people couldn’t find us, and two Kellan had already picked me up, and I was carrying Lexi, and we were sprinting into the darkness. Obviously, we were going down the path. But I didn’t expect to hear the gun shot from behind. Kellan stopped short. And my eyes had gotten used to the darkness well enough to stare at him. He was spacing out, and I was frightened, but before I could speak we were off again, faster this time. “What just happened?” The words blurted out. “They found the door, and the key, they shot it open, I didn’t think they would do that, but they aren’t just after you.” “They are after you?” Him, why? And how come he wasn’t tired yet from carrying me, and Lexi, while running. “Look I can’t explain it now. But I promise to god if we make it out of this alive, I will tell you.” And I would have said ‘kay to him, but my mind was off in a different place, on what he wasn’t telling me, what was happeneing, protecting Lexi, and living. But what distracted me most were the lights coming up quickly from behind us. “**Growl**” Did-did Kellan just growl? And why are we going really fast now, the lights behind me showed us that we were going atleast 40 miles per hour. “Impossible.” It slipped, and then we were moving faster, but so were whatever was behind us. In a world where things are hidden from the ones who need not know, is a world we live in, and I was just getting a real taste of that.
