Another Magical Moment.A Chapter by Stephanie JonesThey just stared at me, and I felt anxious, were the going to hurt me, or Lexi? I felt my arms go around her more protectively, though she wasn’t my daughter, I felt like she was. “Hey,” said a male voice, who I just looked at, and whose, if his voice wasn’t a charmer, he was. I looked at him twice, and actually blinked, stunned by beauty. “Oh, uhm, hi.” I suppose they were waiting like five minutes before I responded, shock slowing. A few people giggled. “What are you doing behind a tree?” A girl chewing lime green gum said. “Uhm, well Lexi was tired so I let her rest.” “Lexi?” “My sister.” Was this chick really that dumb. “Oh.” Yes, yes she was. The boy who stunned me spoke again, “Well anyways, I’m Tyler, and she is Jenny, Jack, John, Laurie, Mark, and Sheena.” Jenny, the dumb girl, was rather tall, but fit in well with her boyfriend Jack, seeing that his arm was around her keeping her close. John, and Laurie were kissing, so that was obvious. Mark was holding hands with the girl Sheena. She had a pretty face, and looked delicate, nice even. “Do you want to hang out?” He spoke again. “Well, sure, I guess.” He reached his arm out, and for as many times as I can remember, I always took their hand. I always did, and always got either hurt, or had my heart broken, something always happened. “I got it.” I stated while placing Lexi in one hand, and lifting myself up with the other. Simple, I guess you could say, immortal stuff. He appeared okay with what happened, I believe he might have known. Either way he began to walk in perfect unison with me, behind his friends. “What’s up?” Tyler sounded so perfect I think I gasped. “The sky.” I looked at him and smiled, he did too. “I meant as in, how are you?” As long as we were being funny… “How are you?” “I asked you first.” “Your point?” He laughed. “I guess you are right, I am okay, better now.” That made me smile. We stopped at the edge of the road, his friends moved from us for a second. “What is wrong?” He laughed. “Nothing, my friends are just planning on heading home soon.” “Oh.” That’s why I didn’t take his hand. “They wanted to know, if you wanted them to take Lexi, she’d sleep better there, and—“ “Sounds cool.” I didn’t need explanation, Lexi needed sleep, and I would kill him if they hurt her. Sheena walked over to me and gently grabbed Lexi from my arms, then walked back to the car, they all did the same, and piled into two separate cars. We watched as the pulled away, and turned the corner, then I faced him. He stared into my eyes. “What?” He looked like he was on a mission. “Your eyes, change, every time you blink.” “Mmhmm.” I finally took a stare into his, and saw they were a silvery grey at the moment. “You are new.” Big shocker there. “Mmhmm.” “How new?” “As in, when I was kissed, or when I awoke?” He shuddered on the word kissed. “Awoken.” “This morning.” He looked really shocked. “Why?” I tilted my head, and smiled. “You are young.” He stated those words slowly. He literally shook himself, and he looked like he was thinking so I looked away. “Do you want to go for a walk?” “Sure.” Oddly enough, I just let rampid immortals take my sister from me and bring them someplace I didn’t even know of. And just as things were starting to settle in, I started an adventure with a new immortal I’d just met. Were we to be closer, and as if he knew what I was thinking he took my hand, and I wanted this, much closer. I must be a stupid girl crushing on every immortal she meets, but this felt right. And in no way was he prepared to leave me as we walked into the crowd keeping our hands tightly locked. The band started to play upon the patio. “Would you like to dance?” Did he have to ask? “Yes.” I nodded while saying. He spun me, and we started with the numerous old people into a dance of all ages to a slow song. “Have I found you, Flightless bird, grounded, bleeding or lost you, american mouth, Big pill stuck going down…[Flightless Bird, American Mouth]”It was playing in the background, my favorite song. I just required hearing those song lyrics to know this was right. He spinned me again, then took me in close, looked me in the eye for a few seconds and let back. I swore he would kiss me, but knew I didn’t want that. I just wanted him, to have and to hold, for now. I’d broken up with a man I thought I’d love forever earlier in the morning, and now was madly in love. But this love felt real, and I didn’t find him in a dream.
