Daughters

Daughters

A Poem by Steven Fleissner

You are my daughters and
I am your dad.
We are family.

You are strawberry preserves and
I am the farms' butter.
We are Comfort.

You are shiny balloons and
I am the air.
We are Celebration.

You are sleepy-eyed alarms and
I am the fire stations'.
We are Morning.

You are the pastel-checkered tablecloth and
I am the tall table.
We are Spring's holiday.

You are the beams and
I am the bolts.
We are Eiffel's Tower.

You are the songs and
I am the poem.
We are Art.

You are paint and
I am the brush.
We are Masterpiece.

You are the flowers and
I am the Pine.
We are the landscape.

You are the sunshine and
I am warm winds.
We are the climate.

You are the young women and
I am Father.
we are Archetype.

You are students and
I am teacher.
We are lessons-learned.

You are sails and
I am ship.
We are Freedom.

You are pretty smiles
I am gut laughter.
We are Happiness.

You are sharp and
I am flat.
We are the concerto.

You are the Meaning of Life and
I am the philosopher.
We are Fate.

You are my daughters and
I am your dad.
We are Love.
