Eyes wide open


Tho some tell me
It's an interesting life
I lead
my reply
no more interesting
than yours
the difference
between my life and most
I would have to say
my outlook
I approach life eyes wide open
as the sun sets
some see
the end to another long day
I see
the beginning of another beautiful night
some see a stranger
I see a friend
that I haven't met yet
some see an old house
decaying from neglect
I see
a diamond in the rough
architectural marvels
begging to be restored
some see a couple in the park
acting childish
I see
lovers inspiring poetry
some see a child just making noise
I see a child enjoying life
some see the wind blow
I see the leaves dancing
approaching life
eyes wide open
can make this journey
a pleasure to behold
