The Get AwayA Poem by KARENWhen your life is crazy and you need to get away!Blusterous wind, blowing through my red hair. My lips are salty from the ocean. Water splashes on me, awakening my inner child.
The sky is partly cloudy, but rays of sun illuminates through, warming me like a firey furnace. The warmth heats my cold tired soul.
The boat rocks back and forth, furious waves splashing against it. I feel freer than I've felt in days.
Sea gulls fly high above me, their voices yelling out over the water. It's like a serenade, my own choir. I'm at awe over the beauty, the serenity I feel.
Soon night falls over the ocean sky, twinkling stars glisten through the darkness. The waves has quieted, and my body is rested.
A noise brings me back to reality. I smile as I gaze at the picture, flipping to the next month of the Thomas Kinkade claendar a small cabin appears in a snowy forest. All pictures look enticing. I know I'll visit many places, if only in my mind.
