Santa's Christmas Dilemma

For the creative poetry group! We had to write a poem based on this picture.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Magical eyes are confussed

Exhaustion interferes with his duties

Responsibility has taken its toll

Reality collides with his mixed up mind

Yearly trips keep him over worked

 

Candy canes mysteriously are in his beard

Head aches from too much holiday cheer

Reindeer are stuck in a chimney

Identity he wishes to change

Shame causes him to cry

Tequilla warms his weary soul

Misadventure leads to disaster

And gifts are delivered to the wrong houses

Santa shouts  ho ho ho, and then passes out

I thought this was a clever and thought provoking write. Almost makes me wonder in all the years Santa has been so busy bringing holiday cheer, its a wonder how he doesnt go stir crazy.

Really good! I prefer traditional Christmas poetry but every once in a while i discover pieces like this that are very enjoyable and have to be liked. great portrayal of the pic.

Poor Santa can't have a bad day. Best movie for a negative Santa was "Bad Santa." The Santa in the movie was pretty bad. I like the story. No booze for old Santa on Christmas eve. A excellent story.

I think I like this more realistic portrayal of Santa better than the traditional jolly old fat man. However, I kind of wanted it to rhyme.. Maybe because almost all the Santa and Christmas themed poetry rhymes.

A sad Santa Claus poem. I hate to think of Santa in this shape, he's only big role is once a year. This is a really good poem. You did an outstanding job on this.
