Calm After The Storm

Calm After The Storm

A Poem by Kate
"

Wrote this for a guy I ultimately gave up on. I won't continue to make a fool of myself. That doesn't discredit the poem's relatability. Tried to make it short and impactful. Does it live up?

"

My heart, like the ocean,

Angrily smashing water against the sand.

Now, as you walk on my shore

The waves become still,

Calm, as if there had been no storm before.

I get the picture of long frustration replaced by release. Good imagery tells the story.
