Crumbling Foundations

Crumbling Foundations

A Poem by streetrose

I lived in a mansion

Of crimson and black

A hell-hole of yearning

For loving was lacked

One night in the stillness

I left all alone

To fend for itself

My decrepit home

I visited once more

When my life was in tatters

But the windows were boarded

And the chandelier shattered

But many years later

With tears in my eyes

I passed my front porch steps

And I kissed them goodbye
