Dear Michael

Dear Michael

A Poem by streetrose

Dear Michael, I’m scared I’ll lose you

For the rest have left before

Though I’m sure what you say is true

I trust my worst fears more

Dear Michael, I want to trust you

You are kind to me, and wise

But everytime I look up to you

You seem to avoid my eyes

Dear Michael, you are scaring me

Your voice is growing colder

I know that you won’t hurt me

But you’re bigger than I, and older

Dear Michael, I am begging for you

I am scared and I’m alone

Though you’re scary, your words ring true

And your voice now seems like home

Dear Michael, I think I love you

But not in a romantic sense

For with your laughing eyes of blue

You make my life less tense

Dear Michael, I take it all back

I just loved too much again

I tried to keep your soul intact

But I only caused you pain

Dear Michael, please don’t leave me

I’m miserable without you, dear

I know with me it’s never easy

But I really want you here

Dear Michael, I’m sorry for being me

I loved you, and you broke

You finally saw you deserve to be happy

And you disappeared like smoke

Dear Michael, I still love you

But I’ll never send this letter

For truly happy are your eyes of blue

Now that we are not together
