Drug Addict

Drug Addict

A Poem by Subversive Reality
"

The harsh reality of it

"

Dirty clothes strewn across his lonely flat
A grimy oven, powder smear scattered

Across the cooking surface
Two week rubbish and two month bed linen,

                   "still time"

His friends, his dreams,

Mere lines in his long list of losses
Things worth more he sold,

Undersold for self deprecation
          "Just one more"

He sinks back into his armchair

And forgets

Author's Note

Subversive Reality
Although this is about drug addiction I actually decided to leave it open to all ages. We shouldn't hide the young from reality. If this offends anyone I am deeply sorry, but youth is where it starts.

This depicts the reality of it. I also was a cocaine addict in my youth, but again the Lord showed me I had more potential in Life. This is really good.
