Chasing ribbons

Chasing ribbons

A Poem by Kaitlyn Stone

If I could change
just one thing, it
would be the

beginning of the end.

Not the start, where
most of us long to
go, but the breaking
of the ribbon:

to finish first.

But I can't, maybe
even wouldn't
if I could, because
I realized that
real love has

no game, no race,
no finish line.

Just a new trail
through the trees and
away from the track,
where the rest run
round and round,
chasing ribbons.

Very well done. You've captured the meaning of love so many miss. Your ending is superb.

Your welcome Kaitlyn
no game, no race, no finish line.
But a success in poetry.

This is truly an excellent concept of a poem, especially near the ending. This is the kind of original poem that I look for when I'm reading new writers to me, thank you Kaitlyn.
