Blossoms unkown

Blossoms unkown

A Poem by Carissa D

Here we are,
a hike to a distant lake.
Above the sky is indifferent
and calling in the distance-
we hear crashing
between
these great peaks.

You spot strawberry blossoms.
And point to small
naïve, white flowers.
And I know
they are powerful as I
stand near
this lake’s ancient rim.
.
And as I watch you cast your line,
and perform your rituals-
a feeling surfaces,
that if I were to sit close to one
and reach -
it would disappear.

We hike down- away
in nature’s silence
immersed in rain - in this the
charred forest. And I think of the
blossoms and their design "
and of you ahead, further down
this path.
