soaked reflections

soaked reflections

A Poem by Carissa D

It started to rain tonight.
Hasn’t in weeks
and I feel guilty- I haven’t
been good to my tomato plants.

And in my driveway I watch the rain
appear in the street light, heavy -
unnoticed.
I stand there, moments
thinking of you and your kids
of your wife
of the love I imagine you share.

And later, alone.
I'm staring at my
soaked reflection and my
abandoned womb.
