Hate and Love are Strangers

Hate and Love..... strangers..no?

HATE is when someone hides the sun

where one cant find it

Love is when the light shines so bright you start to cry

That's why its so hard to love

and so easy to hate

I find it so unbelievable..that hate

can manifest so quickly

just by a misunderstood glare

just by someone saying something the other doesn't like

And then Love takes forever

Even when its staring two people down in the face

Even when its chasing them down like a car tail

Love can take years to find 

Yet hate can come from Love

And Love from hate right? 

They just take there little time

However long they want to!

I get it now!! Thiiiiis was supposed to get me to read this 12 times, huh?! It worked. lol I Love it. I am trying to view this and picture what I'm absorbing, but it turned out to be this beautiful little puzzle of looking inward and reexamining my own perspectives. Love that you introduced each new stanza with the premise of coming up with a theory, but then right after that we get this really pretty and well-informed dissertation on the opposing poles of Love and hate and how they coexist and react to each other. Yayyyyy someone gets it. Yes. I was trying to leave the reader puzzled so they would have to readover and over again to really understand my message. And yes I was intoducing new theories of love and hate just to show the effect or outcome they may have on in each other in the end of their war! Thank You Woden

Awe..glad to be of assistance...I really enjoy your writing too. Are you of some other descent or have you taken another language cause I've seen a poem that was not english..maybe French?

I am French and German. I taught myself French "great", German "great", Japanese "some", and a little Italian when I was little. My mom, who threw away all my poems as a kid and told me that my poetry attempts were evil at best, also told me to stop speaking in "tongue", so I was kinda forced into forgetting such speak... I miss it so, too, "Xena"!! My last name is a city in France and is written about in a Sonnet on here called "History Lesson". All my poems are in alphabetical order going backwards, past the first 25 or so poems you see on the list. lol Long line of poets, royalty, monks, Jon of Arc's dad side of the family... big line!! : ) xoxox -Mark
