A LOVE BRIEF

This poem is about lost love.

I held you once, embraced

All that you gave to me -

Hearts flutter, then fly away

And you sang, 'Love at last is free' -

 

I tried to save the smallest grace,

My breast too small to keep -

This empty shell soon fell away,

And that's all that's left of me -
