The reality of this fantasy

this is for katie who will never read this

although she is gone

i still think about her

how she would say my name

and how i can never say hers

without thinking of

all the stupid things

we managed to do

in the short period of time

we spent together

until the fantasy

became a reality

we came from two

different worlds but

were thrown together

by a simple

"hi"

that i never should

have said because

look at where we

are now

This is an exquisite rendering of such a saddening experience. Life sometimes hits us hard and we go through the actions leading up to that incident wishing we could restart. I feel like you portrayed this message well. If only there was a redo button we all might be a little wiser about our decisions, however I'm a firm believer in "everything happens for a reason" and "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
