This is about watching others suffer for things that you did wrong: the ripple effect

I broke away and ran

But now I'm stuck in sand, again

And I can't move fast enough

to suit you

 

Now you see inside

the poison I can't hide

And all I can do is pray to God

That it won't infect you too

 

So if you see me fading,

The world around me folding

Its only cause I never wanted

To bring you to this dark

 

Its torturing my heart

To watch the pain this brings you

Especially when I know full well

I could've told you 'no'
