Lonely Soul

And on this,
The darkest of nights
I shall curl up tight
And release the tears held in fright
For I am terrified of who may see me cry

There is not a friend
Who can I summon
For only two remain
But at a distance while I am slain
For so long they are gone,
The harder it becomes

The anger an impassible wall
The hate boils behind these blue eyes
So called friends left me to die
For this anger eats away 
At my once pure soul now in decay

Wishes on a star
Wasted words so far
For no actions have been taken
No time has rewound
Things remain frozen
There is no change of pace

Can no one see?
How frail this smile
The tormented eyes stare a while
Constantly seeking to know
If the reason is due to lack of care

If you see and care
Then acknowledge the torment
Hugs can chase darkness
Comfort gives life to a frail smile
You hold the power
To give life to a flower

Such a fragile thing
Yet a soul can sing
One of light carries a sweet tune
One of dark harbors a frightful tune
Leaving the one most have for last

Dancing on a balance beam
Falling can be a real scream
But with effort can return up
On top is all smiles for miles
Below, nothing but darkness
The middle is the true fight
