Amazing and wonderful use of words dear Susan.
"How painful echos vibrate deep within ...
a quiet desperation, once consumed.
Erstwhile, doubts linger so restless, therein;
emergent hope revives a soul foredoomed."
The poem written with the skill of the ancient writers. The above lines were my favorite. Asking questions and seeking memories. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

I would read it read it without a sweat even if you'd made it longer and longer. Such poignant is this write!
Both my eyes and heart love this. For the wording is so pure and the meaning is so inevitable.

' A wounded spirit buries dreams below ... till parting clouds unveil ~ redeeming Grace. '
What a superbly written sonnet, Susan.. Have read as one does, have counted/timed meter, have counted the number of lines.. everything perfect. As to the content, you've touched that very spot that belongs or should to each of us. Tis there to endure, to learn from, to preserve and cherish. Super sweet work, my friend - in every way. Thank you.

beautifully done, Susan! so impressed with your sonnet .. not an easy thing ;) the strength and wisdom of your theme is inspiring ... suffering does teach us so much more than joy .. if we lend the ear to hear .. with even the proverbial mustard seed of Faith .. we courageously endure and walk through it all eh!? glad i stopped to read .. nice to meet you!

(your mustard seed comment made me think of it) we planted it and it actually has a teeny tiny new set of leaves growing ... tenacious little sprout eh!?
For every nuance and ounce of beauty and promise reaching out to me from every word, line, and verse of this soul-touchingly perfect Sonnet, there is a tiny trickle of sadness, of memories and dreams … that touch something real and present in me, that shall ever remain for all my days.
This is so tender to me, so deeply present in my every fibre ~ a tender, winsome tear brimming from the honesty, the genuineness, and sheer unforgettable embrace of your words.
I suppose that's the sad part … I still believe, and know I always shall.
Thank you, Susan ⁓ Richard 🍃
