Would You?

Love is a dangerous game.

If my heart I gave to you

And it trembled in your hand

Would you treat it gently

And would you understand?

 

I am like a small creature

Poised to flee in fright

Would you banish my fears

And chase away the night?

 

Would you rule with wisdom?

Would you tame with care?

Would you have the courage

Your own true soul to bare?

 

If I could one day love you

And traverse such dangerous land

Would you treat me gently?

And would you understand?
