Candlelight,

a short wintry poem I wrote (17.12.2025)

Candlelight,

She flickers and dims like life,

Ever fleeting.

The fragility of her flame, Winter’s wind tempestuously threatens.

Her whole being roars with bright passion

And her silence leads those lost to warmth.

Between the dark, white snow, she burns softer than all else,

And when she warms your cheek and gently touches the tip of your nose,

And the smell of burning wax is the only scent your nose latches onto in this wintry night,

You will understand what it means to be by the candlelight.
