It Goes On...
A Poem by Srinivas
Street Scene in my town
Passing clouds
bring rain on a
Wednesday morning
as I stand at a
corner tea shop,
sipping coffee,
puffing on a ‘cancer
stick,’ watching a trio
of pigeons roosting
in the balcony of a
multi-storied building
across the street.
Crows fly hither
and thither.
I whisper under
my breath and
touch my heart,
as a white hearse
van passes through
leaving behind
theflavour of
sandalwood !

Great stuff. The humdrum of another day, life in general, the mundane we all go through. Nice pictures of everyday existence, which can be so boring in so many ways, but usually is the food of the mind or soul which gets us through it all. Yep, it goes on. I liked this poem a fair bit - understood it - and like its style. Direct. Good work.
