Eggshells to light

Walking on eggshells, walking in the dark, not knowing where to go or what to do

Every step I take there is a crack

I'm walking forward but all is black

I don't know where I am going

I really hate not knowing.

Hoping not to step on the shells

I know if I do, it will lead to hell

Which direction is hard to say

Should I just stop and try to pray?

Hopefully soon the darkness disappears 

Maybe then it will all be clear

Let the light shine, show me the way

I give permission for the sun to ray.

Ray as an adjective does not seem to work in the last line. The poem gets the point across but could use some revising.
