Pitch BlackA Poem by TammeThe stars shine forever But forever doesn't shine. If it did I wouldn't be so lost, In the dark as to what's ahead.
My crystal ball to the past, It is unclouded and bright. My nightlight and warmth. It maybe all I have.
Like a moth, I hover close. I wanted to let it guide me, Only to discover it's useless, Set in its stone.
Occasionally I wander Away from my asylum. As curiosity over rides anxiety But only for a second.
Stumbling blindly. Searching for a light switch. I find doors and windows, Still pitch black on the other side.
So forever I stand Frozen in fear Of all things I can't see, And what might find me. © 2008 TammeFeatured Review
