ravaging seas

Dead sea comes across my eyes.

All screams are dry

People fighting towards shore

Trying not to cross deaths door.

Waves catching everyone deeper in sea

Why have the waters done such evil deed?

Children crying,

Who shouldn’t be drowning.

Helpless mothers and fathers,

Alongside other survivors.

Then my eyes close,

And then rose.

Life less bodies roam the water.

With Endless helpers

Why help now?

After there is no sound.

No more crying.

Only the sound of dwelling.

No more raving waves

Only the lifeless bodies of the brave.

The image to me is one after a tsunami; and I got to say that death by drowning is big fear for me. Top three worst ways to die:
3.Drowning
2.Fire
1. Buried Alive

Reading your poem made me re-live that deep rooted fear, the struggle that one must have to endure - both physically and mentally. And the torture that must be a hundred times worse is watching helplessly as this happens to a loved one.

I like the fact that this wasn't written with a whole lot of pretty imagery, it allowed my mind to draw my own pictures. You were able to bring me to your thoughts without telling me how to think them.
