RecollectA Poem by TanyaThis is a poem i wrote that pertains to the book i just finished. My eyes sweep the stage For your majestic presence. You can feel my piercing gaze. You look around, With those miserable eyes, Desperate eyes. I shudder. Guilty for a fault that’s not mine; Livid, for what I gave into. Hot tears descend down my face, Infuriating me into a crazed state. Finally your eyes land on mine But it’s too late for you to tell That I’m gone with the wind, Yet still present in your heart. It’s sinister, what happened to us, Though not our fault. Blame finds no resting place. Somehow, I want it to find one, So it can bring peace to this heinous deal. I can’t live with the sorrow That loops around my heart. I want to find a way To forget How it is to be with you.
