I am the desert princess I still go bare footed And I love the dry sand Hot days, cool nights Sleeping in caves I play my lute for food. I travel from market place to market place We are the strolling players I am the desert princess. (lute playing) I am the desert princess I play for silver coins and parcels of food The children clap. I smile and bow. The tight rope walker performs He is my brother, Rope Dancer He balances and sways to awe the crowd. He is the Rope Dancer I am the desert princess. (lute) I am the desert princess My players are my kingdom. We stick together and are family. We welcome you to it! Come join us in entertaining. But be warned. if you can’t handle the heat, Get out of the desert. We are the strolling players I am the desert princess.
