Treasured

I entered a dream last night

A haunting from my past

For an addiction

That I could not find,

My body convulsed

In the worst pain

I've ever felt

But you came along

And eased that ache

It was pure pleasure

That you gave,

You held nothing back

To my surprise

And I woke

With you holding me tightly

As if I were your treasure

By your side.

Old wounds find you in the dark hours of life... The pain in the soul is worse than any pain the body could withstand. "pure pleasure" is way of life and not a moment or a feeling, but I agree it is a gift.
Stay in that comfort. Live in it.
