Moral of This Lesson

A gentle giant

Walked into my world

Deep down inside I knew something wasn't right

But gave the benefit of the doubt

Didn't take long

For all truthfulness to come out

It reared it's ugly head

And so I take my sword 

Out of it's sheath

I swing as hard as I can

To take the giant down...

Moral of this lesson to me

Nothing is ever as it seems.

It is so true that nothing is at it seems. It reminds me of the parable about the scorpion and the frog. I hope you don't mind if I suggest that you make all the verb tenses match. You start in the past tense and end in the present- choosing one will make the poem more effective.
