In a cage of her own design

In a cage of her own design

A Story by terry smith

I once knew a girl,
 that was like a kitten.
life
was
 a
ball
 of
yarn
she would play
 happily
 for hours
pushing and spreading
the yarn
 everywhere
till the yard instead
 of being her plaything
became her captor
and she got wound up in it so tightly she couldn't move
I tried to help
but I was not the help
that she wanted
so I had to sit back
 and watch
as she slowly
suffocated

I agree with FT, the tragic irony is really interesting here, good work!

Thanks! :)...........
a sad state to witness...suffocating in a web of her own making...it's ironic how the onlooker often sees these things before the person who is experiencing it..a great write, my friend
