About Time

About Time

A Poem by terry smith

I hate turning clocks back and forth
so every six months I move to a different time zone

I bought a sub-atomic clock
it only keeps time underwater

When I was a kid we got a Grandfather clock
every time I came home late
he said,"do you know what time it is?"

I purchased that clock in the Salvadore Dali painting off E bay
it only keeps surreal time

I was timing the camels and my stopwatch broke
so I got an hourglass stopwatch from a place called the sands of time

One day a lady came up to me
and asked if I had a watch on
I told her I didn't think we needed it
this was a nice neighborhood

Father time wanted twenty four kids
one for each hour
mother nature was having no part of that
so they had two, night and day

A friend of mine got a Godfather clock
nobody argued about what time it was

BIG SMILE!!! :D
Love this. Articulating the vehicles in which time reaches us while outlining the ways in which clocks & time reach us everyday, yet still touching on the significance of time itself.
