Shattered

Shattered

A Poem by terry smith

I thought
 with your own
abandonment
 issues
that you
 wouldn't
 leave me
 so quickly
 and completely.
confident
 on the outside
while
on the inside
 you were
 screaming
 for attention
like
 a rock
made of crystal
I now
see right
 through
 you
you can't
throw
yourself
into anything
 for fear
 of
 shattering
but I would crawl across that broken glass
just to get back to what we had
