Oasis

Oasis

A Poem by terry smith

We are the same
 you and I
wandering this
 desert
 alone
oh, you think
you are an oasis
lush and green
and inviting
but it is all
an illusion
a facade
you are really
 just alone
wandering
 in this heat
wind blowing sand in your eyes
that can no longer
form tears
the two of us
 alone
in this same
vast
 wasteland
never to meet
but if we did
what a beautiful sight
we could make.

The poem has a huge depth. For me some how I felt oasis and deserts are symbolic to our joy and loneliness.May be its just me :) .
I would like to point this out.
We are the same
you and I
wandering this
"dessert" I initially thought you meant desert. Then after reading Angel I re-read this as you are great with words I thought may be you meant dessert and I missed the meaning. How ever, this poem I think desert is correct and dessert is a typing mistake. Please take a call on this.
