Angel

Angel

A Poem by terry smith

I made
 copies
 of
 you
in droplets
 of frozen
 rain
I called
angel
dust.
deep down
it gave off
a blue
hue
 like the
purity
 of your soul...
just then a street cleaner went by
splattering you
 with filthy
grimy
scum,
the universe wasn't going to let me lie to myself

Lol...well dang son I reckon she would at that now wouldn't she!
Great poem. Not sure I understand it, but that's ok...just my own tiny mind. I liked the sharp intrusion of reality (street cleaner) on the fantasy (perception of frozen rain). The universe does have it's ways of giving us reality checks, that's for sure! I love the form of the poem too...somehow adds to the punch and makes it edgy. I like edgy.
