Widower's Lament

Widower's Lament

A Poem by terry smith

as  hang from the gallows
with my last thoughts
of your raven hair
sea foam eyes
ruby lips
ivory thighs
and to never again
feel
loves true kiss
I take this thought with me
into eternal bliss
and step from this gallows
of my own creation
never looking for
a days salvation
only to join
in the blessed dew
the me that you see
with the you
that I knew

u r welcome! :)
love it, like a companion piece to "the widow's lament in springtime" only here it is his winter...there will be no more springs..."hang down your head Tom Dooley, hang down your head and cry, poor boy you're bound to die"
