no one says goodbye anymore

no one says goodbye anymore

A Poem by terry smith

no one
says goodbye
anymore
just stand back and close the door

and no one ever says goodnight
as they reach over and
turn out the lights...

I'm so sick and tired of this town
everyone
is your friend
but
no one's around

when you need them....

I walk these empty streets
all alone
restless are my feet
they have no home
and everywhere
is alone
for me...

no one says goodbye
no one says goodnight
all they do is lie
too me...

as I walk these hollow walls
echo something oh so small
but if I listen I will know
it's for me
to be
all alone.

these days, most of the time you're better off. I know this town, I left it twelve years ago... haven't looked back once. When it surfaces, follow the path outta town, pronto.
