While all the other mice

 were scurrying

 hurrying 

through life's labyrinth 

maze in a

 hazy daze 

of desperation

you and I

hand in hand

took our time

and enjoyed

every stage

and when we finally

 got to the end 

of life's journey

and saw

 the piles of bodies

we knew 

we had won

the race.

This is so sweet Terry. I found it very romantic. The best way to avoid the insanity of the rat race; is when we're sharing it with someone we love. It can almost feel like either time has stopped or our world is just moving so fast that they didn't even noticed. I enjoyed read this.

sadly you can't take the cheese or the bodies with you when ya go. Like Cher and Sonny's BEAT, the race goes on. Rats are used to grow human ears on their backs and GMO cheese is all the rage, cheese rage....that being said, it's sublime to have someone to hold hands with through life's twists and turns.
