A Year And A Half AgoA Poem by SunflowerA year and a half ago, I saw you and you touched my soul, I’ve been drawn to you ever since, Without any control over it, I did everything to get you to notice me, I did it all for feelings that I can’t help but keep, I talked you through problems and your pain, I sat there and listened to you complain, I even saw you through your own nickname, I never called you anything that brought you shame. A year ago we became friends, We chilled and hanged at random dens, Through marching band I learned your story, Through everything I still saw your glory, No matter how bad it ever became, I was there for you just the same, I started to see you care, You started to be there. I learned a secret you hide, Then I joined too as if it should be mine, We went and put on our pokerface and pretended we were cool, But I was scared for me and you, Your friends easily let me join, Then that’s when I proved my point, We were so much the same, Exact I was insecure and scared to be lame, I said yes to every hit and every bong, Even though deep down I knew it was wrong. As time pasted I had the problem too, I was addicted just like you, Your friends became my best, Then they took me farther © 2012 Sunflower |
