Resting Insured?

Resting Insured?

A Poem by Bob B

(I've had to abbreviate "insurance" because I believe that the repetition of the word triggered a spam alert that prevented me from uploading the poem. So, read each "insur." as "insurance." Thanks.)

When you think of it, there is quite a selection

Of ways to offer the guise of protection:

There’s disaster insur. when upheavals cause strife;

There are many types that cover your life.

There’s auto insur. to protect your car;

There’s trip insur. when you travel far.

We have insur. that covers our health

And business insur. to protect our wealth.

There’s burial insur. for when you die;

There’s the overdraft type when your account runs dry.

Property insur. protects your house,

And there’s divorce insur. for you and your spouse.

I.D. protection secures your identity,

And credit insur. is a useful entity.

Liability insur. protects physicians;

Aviation insur. covers certain conditions.

Terrorism insur. might be handy,

And builders’ risk insur. is dandy.

There’s insur. coverage for your pet;

There’s a kidnap and ransom type, too; so don’t fret.

Pianists sometimes insure their hands--

Singers their voices, farmers their lands.

With so many insur. premiums to pay,

How could one afford to live day to day?

There’s something for every condition and occurrence;

But ULTIMATELY there is NO insurance.
