But What About...?

Addressing a joint session of Congress,

Pope Francis touched on many a topic--

Some that people overlook,

Which shows the extent to which they're myopic.

 

Religious freedom, climate change,

And poverty were topics mentioned.

The topic of income inequality

Showed that the pontiff was well-intentioned.

 

The embracing of immigrants and the death penalty:

Additional topics that the pope addressed.

Human dignity and the common good:

Two points that he heavily stressed.

 

But ONE key issue that didn't come up

In Pope Francis' lengthy oration

Was an issue that affects all the others:

That of the world's overpopulation.

 

It doesn't matter how many saints

He canonizes or people he anoints,

A world population out of control

Makes most of his concerns moot points.
