Sinking Ship

Sinking Ship

A Poem by Bob B

What do you do on a sinking ship?

You desperately grasp for whatever

Will keep you afloat; you rack your brain

And cherish any life-saving endeavor.

Many of Trump's fellow Republicans

Have bailed and now are floating away

On any available lifeboat. They hope

That they will survive on election day.

Trump, unprepared for his journey

And lacking dignity and character as well,

Naively thought himself invincible

And failed to heed the warning bell.

He's hoping his team will save his vessel.

It doesn’t matter on whom they trample

To keep his boat on top of the water--

To prove that he's a fitting example.

After hearing his "locker room" babble

And seeing his sleazy way of behaving,

You wonder how anyone in his right mind

Would find the pompous a*s worth saving.
