Peaceful Protests

Trumplicans are getting nervous

As opposition grows,

And following Trump's orders as

He leads them by the nose,

 

They are lashing out at those

Of us who are robust

At gathering across this land

To demonstrate disgust

 

With what the president is doing

And how he is defying

Our democratic rights as he

Keeps lying, lying, lying.

 

They say that we are socialists,

Enemies of the state,

And haters of this country, and

They hope folks bite their bait.

 

So entrenched in Trumpworld, they

Will spread Trump's foolish lies.

So we who love America

Have got to mobilize.

 

BECAUSE we love democracy

We take to the streets

With voices loud in protest till

Autocracy retreats.

 

The Constitution guarantees

Our legal right to assemble.

Trump thinks if he threatens us,

Those threats will make us tremble.

 

We MUST stay strong and stand together

In order to maintain

Our rule of law and precious rights.
