SNAP! And It's Gone!

Trump and fellow Republicans

Are spreading lies to get their way

And not funding programs that help

Americans who are struggling today.

 

They blame the Democrats for shutting

The government down and hope they'll cave.

Republicans, by cutting programs,

Are only digging a giant grave.

 

One of the programs in jeopardy

Is assistance that we call SNAP.°

By doing away with it, they widen

America's economic gap.

 

SNAP puts food on tables and helps

Smaller businesses survive.

Once again, as people suffer,

More million- and billionaires thrive.

 

To add insult to injury,

Government websites are spreading lies

And violating the Hatch Act,°°

Which happens to come as no surprise.

 

Trump's major concern right now

Is building a ballroom while people are hurting.

To end the shutdown, we can see

The zero effort that he's exerting.

 

And why are we sending billions of dollars

To bail out Argentina, while here

Many people are suffering?

Oh, well, the answer is clear:

 

Trump thinks only about himself,

And his priorities are skewed.

As long as he can make a deal,

He doesn't care if people get screwed.
