Who Will Be Next?

First, with vicious rhetoric

And hateful appetites,

They came after trans people

And took away their rights.

 

Then they came after many folks

Who didn't support "the man,"

But still worked hard for the government.

They were given the can.

 

With a heartless lack of compassion

And racist talk to boot,

They then came after immigrants, whom

They still persecute.

 

After that it was liberals,

Whom they love to condemn,

And who have curiously become

The devil incarnate to them.

 

Then, protesters became

The targets of their abuse.

They will even shoot them dead

And make up a flimsy excuse.

 

The president's opponents were then

Singled out for attacks

And frivolous investigations

By Trump's political hacks.

 

Now our journalists are being

Arrested: the evolution

Of steps the president is taking

To stomp on the Constitution.

 

We can see what happens when tyrants

Rule with an iron fist.

Everyone should be wondering

Who'll be next on their list.
