A Wintery Night

I wrote this as I was outside.

Sitting underneath the stars

I feel at peace with myself

 

The stillness of the night

Calms my aching heart

 

The sparkling stars

Soothe my soul

 

A gentle breeze whispers by

Settling my nerves

 

The soft touch of a snowflake

Caresses my cheek

 

The coldness of the air

Simmers the angry flames within me

 

The sensation of peace

Tingles from my fingertips to the tips of my toes

On this wintry night.
