DeclarationA Poem by tekphobikRejecting one's own humanity
If you asked me who I loved, I would answer, "Everyone."
If you demanded me to admit who I hate, the answer is the same. I have one foot in hell, I can't let go of heaven, And my body is bound to mother Gaia. My lack of full commitment to any master Has made me the emperor of myself; And this tearing in every direction that I endure Is my punishment and my blessing. The righteous will condemn, The condemned will scorn, This is the transformation from man to beast For the only truth I have ever found Lies in the innocence absolute of untamed creature. And all I want, my only true desire, Is to be able to fly to the sun without the feathers scorching or the wax melting. I shall honour the truth I feel from within until it destroys me, Because all I crave is honesty, And that is nowhere to be found in a world of men. © 2011 tekphobikAuthor's Note
