Fragrant verse

In the desert of my heart

I found a rose.

Kissing her soft petals,

(Embracing you, I prose)

My love tore them apart.

I let a gentle breeze scatter

Those drops of fragrant blood…

Like hummingbirds they flew

And spattered the mud

With tiny red wings   

Over the white roses in bud.

My song was this free verse

With the melody of your lips

Like an evening prayer

Sad and terse…

I think it's a love poem. I'd say love always plucks red-roses because for lovers red-rose doesn't work only for a Rose.. but works as their lips when they use making love without pain and hurt ... and when the lips, when the souls get combine rose get plucked and get dispersed into the colors of love .. "RED".
