For Every Night

A poem written to describe the girl I am crushing on and how she helped me see life differently and gave me some hope to live for.

Held here so tight.

To be with me,

To ease the pain.

Of all my dark lonely days.

You are here,

 Right by my side,

For every night.

 

Forever you shine so bright,

A star lighting my darkest frights.

Forever you're unafraid,

To hear me fight.

 

You can see the demon next to me,

I cry out for my sweet release.

You hold it away from me, 

Saying I must fight.

 

Through the darkest fears of night,

You hold and say I'll win the fight.

You're calm and unafraid,

Knowing I'll be alright.

 

Because you leave me speechless every night,

Beauty untold with no flaw in sight.

I hold you knowing I'll win the fight,

For every night.

 

You're the beauty I live to be.

Forever strong, and oh so bright.

Hopeful I'll win this fight,

And be forever with thee.

 

You protected me from every fright,

I was never strong enough to pay the price.

You died here unafraid,

Losing my fight.

 

So I lie here every night,

Wishing you'd never taken your light.

Hopeful and unafraid,

I wish to fight.

 

Fight to see you for one final night.

Give that kiss I held in fright.

Hold you for every night.

So you can't ever take your light.

Author's Note

The overuse of "ight" rhymes is on purpose and was not because I was lazy.
